Weekly Update for Oct. 14, 2009
I'm starting to get worried messages from various people about our supply list for this week's sewing project. For those of you who have misplaced it or never received one, I'm going to post it below.
For the next two weeks at M4M, we will be doing a fun sewing project. I can't believe I just used the words "fun" and "sewing" in the same sentence -- but everyone keeps assuring me that it's going to be fun, so I will just have to have faith and remember that we're all in it together!
If you have them, please bring:
Sewing Machines
Power strips
Measuring tools
Patience and a sense of humour.
Okay, I added the last bit. :)
Here's what you need to make the Criss-cross bag:
1 yd. main fabric
1 yd. lining
1/2 yard of a contrasting fabric to make the bias binding
Matching thread
Loaded bobbin (if you know what this is...otherwise just bring your thread).
Pins
Optional embillishment for outside
Measuring tools.
Remember to avoid one-way fabric prints.
*** If you do not want to sew... please come anyway and bring along some type of project to work on. We will have plenty of time to chat and catch up with one another. Almost all of us are beginning (or near-beginning) sewers, so don't be frightened by a lack of skill. So, try the sewing project or bring along some other craft, but just come!
